Why Checkout.com?
“I was excited about the opportunity to shake up one of the largest categories in the world, money movement and to do so while building an excited, curious and humble culture in the US.”
For Zack, that combination was what made Checkout.com stand out. The work was commercially significant, the market was complex and the ambition in the US was clear. This was not a role built around maintaining what already existed but an opportunity to help shape how we grow in a market where payments performance, customer expectations and technology are moving quickly. Five years later, that early conviction has turned into real traction.
“We have made a lot of progress on both fronts. We have grown 30x in terms of processing and headcount, but are still just getting started.”
That balance is what continues to energise Zack. We have built scale, but not complacency. We have stronger foundations, but no sense that the work is finished. In the US, there is still significant room to define the market, deepen our customer relationships and show what a modern payments partner can deliver.
#Better Every Day
For Zack, Better Every Day is more than an operating principle. It is a way of working. In Commercial, progress comes from learning quickly, staying close to the customer and turning every experience into sharper judgement.
“Every day is a new day and always represents an opportunity. When you have success, harness that success and let it propel you. When you have failure, learn from your mistakes so that you get better and improve.”
That mindset brings a useful balance to the pace of the role. Success matters, but so does what you do with it. Setbacks happen, but they are only wasted if you fail to learn from them. For Zack, that perspective keeps performance ambitious without becoming rigid. It creates space for people to move quickly, take accountability and keep improving with every customer conversation, deal cycle and decision.
It is also a personal philosophy. Outside of work, Zack is passionate about staying grounded in the things that matter most to him. His faith and family play a central role in his life, and that sense of perspective helps him stay focused, motivated and balanced.
Built for what’s next
“It’s 2026 and the world is changing rapidly. There are few hyper growth companies you can join that are not under the threat of existential disruption. And while AI is a core jetpack for our business, we operate in a regulated and complex space that is not going anywhere.”
For Zack, this is what makes Checkout.com such a compelling place to build a career. We are operating in a category that is being transformed by technology, but still depends on trust, infrastructure and deep expertise. AI is accelerating how we work, but payments remains essential to how businesses grow, operate and serve their customers.
That creates a rare kind of career environment. The pace is fast, the problems are complex and the work has real staying power. For people who want to build in a high growth company without stepping into a category that could be quickly displaced, Checkout.com offers a powerful combination of momentum and durability.
“To be an emerging leader in that sort of industry is a great place to build your career.”
Expanding our US capabilities
One of the most important areas of focus for Zack’s team is the launch of two major product capabilities in the US.
“We have been focused on launching two new major product capabilities in the US in 2026: the next generation of our Platform product in the US, which will unlock a huge new market for us, and operationalising our own acquiring licence.”
These are significant milestones for our US strategy. They represent deeper investment in the region, stronger infrastructure for merchants and a broader platform for future growth.
They also reflect the type of work that makes Checkout.com commercially exciting: complex, high impact and directly connected to what enterprise customers need next. For the Commercial team, this creates a powerful moment. We are not simply selling into an existing playbook. We are helping bring new capabilities to market, shaping how merchants understand the value of our platform and building relationships in a region where the opportunity is still expanding. That requires commercial focus, cross functional execution and the confidence to operate in a market where expectations are high. It is Better Every Day in action: strengthening our foundations, sharpening our proposition and continuing to evolve in service of our customers.
Humility at scale
“We promote a One Team and humble culture at Checkout.com. We are a company full of good human beings, who like working and winning together. We learn from one another and push each other to get better.”
For Zack, the culture is a major part of why the work feels meaningful. Commercial success is rarely created by one person operating alone. It depends on teams that share context, challenge each other well and stay focused on the outcome. That is the environment Zack sees at Checkout.com. Ambition is high, but ego is low. People want to win, but they also want to do it together. The pace is demanding, but the culture is collaborative enough to make that pace sustainable.
“Ultimately, any job comes down to the people at the end of the day.”
That belief shapes how Zack thinks about growth, leadership and team performance. The strongest teams are not only technically capable or commercially sharp. They are built by people who trust each other, learn from each other and care about the standard they create together.
Bringing your whole self
Outside of work, Zack is deeply committed to his faith and family. He strictly observes Jewish holidays and customs, including not using electricity on the Sabbath each week. From his first day at Checkout.com, he has felt supported in honouring this important part of his life.
“I am passionate about my faith and family. We strictly observe Jewish holidays and customs, including no electricity use on the Sabbath each week. Since day one, everyone at Checkout has been extremely supportive of this very important part of my life and has embraced this side of who I am.”
For Zack, that support is part of what makes the culture feel real. Belonging is not only about broad commitments or values on a page. It is experienced in the everyday moments when people make space for what matters to their colleagues. That respect has allowed Zack to build a demanding career while staying connected to the values and commitments that ground him personally. It is also a reminder that high performance and individuality do not need to compete. People do their best work when they feel trusted, respected and able to contribute fully.
Choosing transparency
Zack’s advice for anyone considering a role at Checkout.com is to get close to the people and the culture before making a decision.
“Speak to our teammates. Learn what life is like working here. Go into any new role with as much information as possible. There should not be major surprises 60 days into a new job.”
For him, that is not just practical advice. It reflects how Checkout.com operates. The culture places real value on transparency and authenticity, which means candidates should feel encouraged to ask direct questions, understand the pace and get a clear view of what it takes to succeed here.
“Our company culture places extreme value on transparency and authenticity. Reach out to me or any of our teammates to learn more about life at Checkout.com. We’d be happy to share our experience with you.”
For people who are curious, ambitious and ready to contribute, those conversations can be powerful. They reveal a business that is moving quickly, a Commercial team with meaningful ownership and a culture where people are open about both the opportunity and the expectations.
