As an Engineering Manager in Technology, Sravanthi focuses on building high performing teams and driving operational efficiency across complex engineering environments. Her measure of success is in the progress of the people around her.
“I try to stay grounded and real. For me, success is measured by the growth and momentum of the team.”
Building impact through engineering
Sravanthi joined Checkout.com, drawn by the opportunity to work within a lean, ambitious company operating on a global scale.
“I’ve always thrived in high pressure environments. Checkout.com had the energy and ambition of a team moving fast and building at a global scale and that was incredibly compelling.”
What continues to motivate her today is the tangible impact engineering teams can have across the business. Whether improving engineering workflows or optimising merchant facing products, the ability to create meaningful operational improvements keeps the work engaging.
“It’s addictive in the best way. Every day there’s an opportunity to solve real problems and make things better.”
Strengthening the foundations for global scale
Recently, Sravanthi’s team has been focused on strengthening Checkout.com’s technical foundations, ensuring products can scale globally while maintaining speed, reliability and safety.
Their work has included initiatives such as SDK size optimisation, automated testing enhancements and performance benchmarking across the technical estate.
“These projects might sit behind the scenes, but they’re critical to how we scale. By improving our engineering foundations, we enable product teams to move faster without compromising quality.”
The approach reflects one of Checkout.com’s core operating principles of Better Every Day. It acknowledges something important, perfection is always evolving. Even when something works well, there’s always another layer of efficiency or improvement to discover.
One team, solving global challenges
For Sravanthi, culture plays a significant role in how teams approach these challenges. Her favourite aspect of working at Checkout.com is the company’s One Team philosophy, where teams collaborate across functions to solve merchant challenges collectively.
“We strip away silos and focus on finding the best solution together. That collaboration makes even the most complex problems energising to solve.”
Growing with the company
Sravanthi’s own career journey reflects the opportunities available at Checkout.com. She joined as a Software Engineer and has since grown into an Engineering Manager leading high performing teams. Her advice for anyone considering joining the technology organisation is to focus on ownership and impact.
“If you take true ownership of your work and focus on making a difference, your career will evolve naturally.”
Shaping the future of consumer mobile
It’s also an exciting time to join the team she leads. Checkout.com’s consumer mobile team is helping shape products used by millions globally and the team is looking for senior leaders ready to contribute at an architectural level.
“We’re looking for engineers who want to go beyond writing code. This is a place where you can define architecture, lead technical discovery and build products that have real impact on the merchant and consumer experience.”
For those who thrive in fast moving, high impact environments, it’s an opportunity to build technology that scales globally, while growing alongside it.
