Dispute Lifecycle Report

The Dispute Lifecycle Report sets out lifecycle events for all Issuing disputes on your cards during a selected timeframe. It covers presentment, chargeback, and representment through to pre-arbitration and arbitration.

This report is only relevant if you're a processing-only client.

The report is provided as a CSV file. By default, the file name uses the following format:

{Start date:YYYYMMDD}-{End date:YYYYMMDD}-Card Issuing: Dispute Lifecycle Report-{Entity name}.csv

The report is updated twice daily at around 00:30:00 UTC and 10:30:00 UTC.

The report includes all of the following fields in this order:

Field name Description

Field name	Description
Dispute ID string	The unique identifier for the dispute. Example – `idsp_abcdef1ghijklmn23opq45r6st`
Issuing Dispute Status string	The status of the dispute. This can be one of: `created` – You successfully created the dispute. `processing` – Checkout.com and the card scheme are processing your request. `action_required` – You need to provide further evidence. `canceled` – You did not submit the dispute within the timeframe, or you reversed the dispute. `lost` – You lost the dispute. `won` – You won the dispute.
Issuing Dispute Status Reason string	The status reason that provides more information about the dispute status. This can be one of: `chargeback_pending` – You have requested a chargeback with the merchant. `chargeback_processed` – The card scheme has processed your chargeback. `chargeback_evidence_invalid_or_insufficient` – The chargeback evidence you provided was invalid or insufficient. `chargeback_rejected` – The merchant has rejected the chargeback. `chargeback_response_accepted` – You have accepted the merchant's response to the chargeback. `chargeback_reversed` – You have reversed the chargeback. `prearbitration_pending` – You have escalated the dispute to pre-arbitration. `prearbitration_processed` – The card scheme has processed the pre-arbitration. `prearbitration_evidence_invalid_or_insufficient` – The pre-arbitration evidence you provided was invalid or insufficient. `prearbitration_rejected` – The merchant has rejected the pre-arbitration. `prearbitration_response_accepted` – You have accepted the merchant's response to pre-arbitration. `prearbitration_reversed` – You have reversed the pre-arbitration transaction. `arbitration_pending` – You have escalated the dispute to arbitration. `arbitration_processed` – The card scheme has processed the arbitration. `expired` – The dispute has expired.
Transaction ID string	The unique identifier for the disputed transaction, which links all related authorization, reversal, and clearing messages. Example – `trx_abcdef1ghijklmn23opq45r6st`
Presentment Message ID string	The unique identifier for the message for the specific disputed presentment from the transaction. Example – `msg_abcdef1ghijklmn23opq45r6st`
Card ID string	The unique identifier for the card used for the transaction. Example – `crd_abcdef1ghijklmn23opq45r6st`
Presented On datetime	The date and time when the merchant made the presentment for the disputed transaction, in UTC. Format – ISO 8601 code Example – `2020-01-31T10:20:30.456`
Reconciliation Amount decimal	The amount you settled with the card scheme for the disputed transaction, in the major currency unit. Format – Fixed-point notation with up to eight decimal places Example – 500 USD is represented as `500.00`
Reconciliation Currency string	The currency you settled the card scheme in for the disputed transaction. Format – ISO 4217 code
Transaction Amount decimal	The amount of the disputed transaction in the major currency unit. Format – Fixed-point notation with up to eight decimal places Example – 500 USD is represented as `500.00`
Transaction Currency string	The currency of the disputed transaction. Format – ISO 4217 code
Chargeback Submitted On datetime	The date and time when you submitted the chargeback to the merchant, in UTC. Format – ISO 8601 code Example – `2020-01-31T10:20:30.456`
Chargeback Amount decimal	The amount of the chargeback in the major currency unit. Format – Fixed-point notation with up to eight decimal places Example – 500 USD is represented as `500.00`
Chargeback Currency string	The currency of the chargeback. Format – ISO 4217 code
Chargeback Reason Code decimal	The reason code you provided for the chargeback.
Chargeback Reason Code Message string	The description of the chargeback reason code.
Chargeback Justification string	Your justification for the chargeback.
Chargeback Accepted On datetime	The date and time when the merchant accepted the chargeback, in UTC. Format – ISO 8601 code Example – `2020-01-31T10:20:30.456`
Chargeback Accepted Amount decimal	The amount of the chargeback the merchant accepted in the major currency unit. Format – Fixed-point notation with up to eight decimal places Example – 500 USD is represented as `500.00`

Card Reference string	The identification reference you provided when creating the card.
Card UDF1 string	A user-defined field (UDF) you specified when setting up your card program.
Card UDF2 string	A UDF you specified during setup.
Card UDF3 string	A UDF you specified during setup.
Card UDF4 string	A UDF you specified during setup.
Card UDF5 string	A UDF you specified during setup.

Dispute ID

string

The unique identifier for the dispute.
Example – idsp_abcdef1ghijklmn23opq45r6st

Issuing Dispute Status

The status of the dispute. This can be one of:

created – You successfully created the dispute.
processing – Checkout.com and the card scheme are processing your request.
action_required – You need to provide further evidence.

lost – You lost the dispute.

Issuing Dispute Status Reason
