Settlement Statement
Last updated: September 11, 2024
This statement provides an overview of your settlement, with a summary of the related financial activity. For example, your payments, refunds, chargebacks, and fees. You can give this document to your bank when they request proof of a given payment from Checkout.com.
You receive a statement for every settlement paid out to your bank account. To access your statement, use either Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), the Reports API, or the Settlements tab on the Dashboard. To find out the specific payments and fees included in your settlement, see your Financial Actions by Payout ID Report.
Dates and times, including the period each statement covers, are in UTC.
Note
All monetary values in your statement display in a single major currency unit, rounded to two decimal points. For example, a total chargeback fee of 33.33333 USD will be displayed as 33.33 USD on your statement. This makes statements unsuitable for reconciliation.
Your statement header contains the following:
- Your legal business details — name, address, and VAT registration number
- Checkout.com legal business details — name and address
- Statement information — Statement ID, statement period, when the transactions were processed and impacted a merchant’s balance, and the date when your statement was generated
The summary outlines the different financial activity related to your settlement. For example, the payments and fees, and the currency you received the settlement in.
To reconcile your bank statement with your Checkout.com statement:
- On your bank statement, identify a payment from Checkout.com.
- In your bank statement's reference field, find the payment's unique 12-character ID and download the Settlement Statement with the matching ID.
The amount settled in your account should equal the net amount on your statement.
If your Settlement Statement includes processing across two or more separate periods, then the Statement period sections display the information for each period.
Settlement statements come in PDF format, with the file name following this template:
settlement-statement_{EntityID}_{Payout Date: YYYYMMDD}_{Payout ID}.pdf
The statement is created when your settlement is generated, between 02:00 and 12:00 in the settlement time zone you've configured in your entity account.
Your statement is created for each settlement sent, in line with your specified settlement frequency. The statement provides a summary of all financial activity associated with the specific settlement.
For example, you've set your settlement time zone to America/Los_Angeles Pacific Time (PT) and your business follows a daily settlement cycle. You receive a USD settlement from Checkout.com on August 4, 2023 with the Payout ID 00000000CFJU. Your settlement statement with the ID 00000000CFJU on August 4, 2023 explains that settlement. It includes all financial activity held in USD from August 3, 2023, at 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 PT. The report is created by 12:00 PT on August 4, 2023.
