Visa Click to Pay
Beta
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Information
Visa Click to Pay with Remember Me is in beta. It supports Visa cards only, and is available for Flow on web only, not on the Flow mobile SDKs. We're rolling it out automatically, in stages, to all merchants that have Remember Me.
Click to Pay is a card scheme standard that lets customers pay with cards they've saved to a scheme directory, without entering their card details again.
Checkout.com offers Click to Pay through Remember Me. When a customer who is new to Remember Me starts to check out, we check whether their email address and phone number match a Visa Click to Pay profile. If it does, we verify their identity, display the Visa cards saved to their Click to Pay profile, and let them pay with one of those cards. After a successful payment, we create a Remember Me account for them and save the card they used.
Remember Me stays the only surface your customers interact with, and the only integration you maintain. There's no separate Click to Pay integration, and no code changes to make.
Visa Click to Pay is supported for Flow on web only, and is not currently available on the Flow mobile SDKs.
For your customers:
- Faster checkout – Customers who already have cards in the Visa Click to Pay directory can pay without entering their card details, even if they've never saved a card with you.
- A saved card for future checkouts – Once saved to Remember Me, the card they paid with becomes available at every merchant that has Remember Me enabled.
For your business:
- A wider Remember Me network – Successful Click to Pay payments can create Remember Me accounts, so more of your customers can check out faster next time.
- One integration – Click to Pay works within your existing Remember Me integration.
- Network token processing – We process these payments as network tokens by default, which improves security and can lower your cost of acceptance.
The following steps describe the customer experience for a customer who has a Visa Click to Pay profile but no Remember Me account:
- At checkout, the customer provides their email address, or you pass it in the payment session request.
- Checkout.com checks the customer's email address and phone number against the Visa Click to Pay directory. If there's no match, the customer continues through the standard Remember Me sign-up experience.
- If there's a match, we send the customer a one-time password (OTP) to verify their identity.
- When the customer verifies their identity successfully, we display the eligible Visa cards saved to their Click to Pay profile. Card details are masked, and only the last four digits are shown.
- The customer selects a card and completes the payment. If the issuer, scheme, or your own configuration requires further authentication, such as 3D Secure, the customer completes that step as usual.
- After a successful payment, we create a Remember Me account using the customer's email address and phone number, and we save the card they paid with to their Remember Me wallet.
The customer receives the same Remember Me notifications as any other Remember Me customer, and they can manage their saved cards on their personal dashboard.
Information
Payment completion always takes priority over account creation. If we cannot create a Remember Me account, for example because the customer's email address or phone number is already linked to an existing account, the payment still completes and we do not display an error to the customer.
During the beta, Click to Pay is available to eligible customers paying through Flow on web. Check the following customer eligibility criteria and integration limitations before enabling the feature.
We display Click to Pay cards when all of the following are true:
- The customer does not already have a Remember Me account.
- The customer's Visa Click to Pay profile includes both an email address and at least one phone number.
- The cards in the profile were enrolled with the customer's consent, either by the customer at a merchant's checkout or by their card issuer. We do not display cards that Visa added to its directory without the customer taking part in the enrollment.
Click to Pay has the following limitations:
- Visa cards only. We plan to add Mastercard Click to Pay in a future release.
- Flow integrations only. Other integration types, such as a direct Payments API integration, are not supported.
- New Remember Me customers only. Customers who already have a Remember Me account continue with their existing saved cards, and we do not retrieve their Click to Pay cards.
- Flow on web only. Click to Pay is not yet available on the Flow mobile SDKs.
Make sure that:
- You've integrated Flow on your website.
- You've enabled Remember Me on your account.
- Your integration provides the customer's email address and phone number, either in the payment session request or by collecting them in Flow. Click to Pay uses these details to look up the customer's profile in the Visa directory, so we cannot match a customer without them.
We're rolling out Click to Pay automatically, in stages, to all merchants that have Remember Me. You do not need to request it.
To get early access ahead of the rollout, contact your account manager or request support, and confirm which of your business entities you want us to enable Click to Pay for. If you're testing in sandbox, contact your solutions engineer.
Pass both the customer's email address and phone number in the payment session request, as in the following example. We use both details to look up the customer's profile in the Visa Click to Pay directory, and to create their Remember Me account after a successful payment.

Information
Providing a placeholder email address can lead to issues with customer retrieval. If your process relies on placeholder emails, contact your account manager or request support.
To test Click to Pay, you need a test Visa Click to Pay profile. Contact your account manager or solutions engineer to get the email address and phone number for a test profile, and confirm how to obtain its OTP before starting the test.
Then, in your sandbox environment:
- Start a checkout and provide the test profile's email address and phone number, either in the payment session request or in Flow. Flow prompts you for an OTP.
- Enter the OTP. Flow displays the masked Visa cards from the test profile.
- Select one of the displayed cards and pay. The payment completes in the same way as any other Remember Me payment, and your existing payment webhooks and responses are unchanged.
- Start a new checkout with an email address and phone number that do not match a Click to Pay profile. Flow displays the standard Remember Me sign-up experience.
