Onboard sub-entities
Beta
All sellers that process on your platform are represented as sub-entities. Before you can onboard a sub-entity to your platform, Checkout.com requires specific information for verification and setup purposes.
The process for onboarding a sub-entity is as follows:
Configure your webhook server and subscribe to the relevant events. This ensures that you receive all the necessary notifications throughout the onboarding process.
Collect the required information from your sub-entities for verification.
Submit the required information for your sub-entities by using the Platforms API.
Add the required supporting documents.
Add a payment instrument for each holding currency that you have specified. This step triggers the verification checks.
Checkout.com conducts asynchronous verification checks on the sub-entity.
- You can track the status of your sub-entities through the onboarding process in the Dashboard or via API responses.
- We also send webhooks about the outcome of the verification checks and any status changes.
Note
The verification timelines depend on the region in which your platform operates and the sub-entity information you have submitted. For more details, see the Verification timelines section.
Check the outcome of the verification checks.
If verification is successful, the sub-entity's capabilities are enabled.
If verification fails, we may ask you to provide additional information so that we can conduct the checks again.
For platforms operating in the United States, Checkout.com offers the possibility for instant onboarding. This enables sub-entities to be verified with minimal upfront information and provides an immediate onboarding decision.
If a sub-entity cannot be automatically verified, we may request additional information and attempt verification again. After you submit the required information, we will retry the verification process.
For platforms operating outside the United States, sub-entity verification may take longer and can delay the onboarding outcome. If you have any concerns, contact your account manager or request support.
