Visa defers plans to restrict standing instruction digital wallet Merchant Initiated Transactions

Nov 8, 2023
Stacey Ruggles

Visa has announced it will delay its plan to restrict standing instruction Merchant Initiated Transactions (MITs) on digital wallets indefinitely until further notice.

Visa has taken into consideration that not all of the payments ecosystem will be ready in time to meet the previous February 28, 2024, deadline, and will therefore not decline standing instruction MITs on digital wallets after this date.

We will update you if we receive any further news.
