Iceland to remove minor currency units from April 2023

Jan 31, 2023
Stacey Ruggles

From April 14, 2023, Iceland will remove the minor currency - aurar (cents). All card schemes will be changing the minor currency unit of Icelandic Krona (ISK) from two decimal points to zero for Authorizations and Captures. This will align with ISO standards.

What do you need to do?

No changes are needed from your side. The Checkout.com payment gateway already supports ISK with no decimal units (exponent). Click here to see how we calculate the amount.

You can continue to submit all payments and transactions in ISK as you do today, with no decimal points.
