Testing
Last updated: April 29, 2022
Our sandbox environment provides an excellent opportunity to make sure everything is working perfectly. Sign up for your test account, then use the information in this section to try out your integration before going live.
Data retention
Data is held in sandbox for seven days before being deleted. Unused accounts are deleted after one month of inactivity.
I've finished testing. How do I go live?
To get started, contact your dedicated Sales manager, or get in touch with our Sales team.
Always use your test keys when testing your integration – this is how we know to link all test payments to your sandbox account.
You can find your test keys in our sandbox version of the Hub under your channel settings. Test keys use the prefix sk_test
and pk_test
.
Test keys can be set to live mode and will look like production keys – sk_xxxx
and pk_xxxx
. These keys will still only work in the sandbox environment – by making the request to https://api.sandbox.checkout.com
. Even though these keys look the same as production keys, they will not work if you attempt to use them in a request to the live environment.
It is also possible to have test mode keys in the live version of the Hub. This can happen when a new channel has been created in the Hub, but not yet approved. These keys will not work in any environment until we switch them to live mode.
