London UK, Friday 11th December 2020 – Leading connected payments provider, Checkout.com has been appointed by modern and contemporary furniture business, Heal’s.

The 210-year-old business tapped Checkout.com to serve as its payment provider to future-proof its heritage and capitalise on the boom in e-commerce, particularly on mobile, that it’s seen since the start of the pandemic.

Home interior improvements and furniture sales have been on the rise, with consumers spending more time living and working from their homes. Heal’s has experienced a 100% increase in online purchases since the start of the pandemic, with mobile transaction volumes growing even faster (130%).

The retailer has seen thousands of transactions being generated every month with online traffic up 64% and conversion up 22% since the beginning of the pandemic.

The switch to Checkout.com unlocks digital wallets for the furniture brand, with customers able soon to use solutions such as Apple Pay and Google Pay online, as well as other payment methods. This will improve the checkout experience for Heal’s customers and drives further revenue growth for the business.

As more consumers opt to shop online, Heal’s can also take advantage of Checkout.com’s unified payments processing platform, via a single integration to future-proof their ecommerce payment processing.

David Kohn, Customer and E-commerce Director at Heal’s, said: “Heal’s is renowned for its modern contemporary furniture, for quality and for its customer service. We don’t believe that this should change just because a customer purchases online - so that’s why we selected Checkout.com who offer the latest technology and have a pedigree in the eCommerce market. With Checkout.com’s connected payments, we are able to offer our customers a seamless checkout experience, allowing them to pay how they want.”

Commenting on the partnership, Matthieu Barral, Senior Vice President at Checkout.com, said: “We’re proud to support an iconic British brand in Heal’s to thrive online. Securing their business is testament to the platform we’ve developed, which empowers brands to unlock growth through connected payments. The pandemic has sent more consumers online than ever before, and this partnership places Heal’s at the front of the line.”

Checkout.com is the payment provider of choice for major eCommerce businesses globally counting the likes of Farfetch, Klarna, Grab and Samsung as customers. Since the start of the pandemic, it has seen a 250% increase in digital transactions on its platform as businesses switch to online payments.
