# Balance Confirmation Report The Balance Confirmation Report is a formal statement of the funds Checkout.com holds on your behalf at a specific point in time. For a single calendar day, it confirms the closing balance of every currency your entity holds, split by [balance](https://www.checkout.com/docs/funds-management/manage-funds/balances.md) type. Use the report to: - Confirm your held balances with Checkout.com on a chosen date, for example, at month-end or year-end close. - Give your auditors third-party evidence of the funds your payment service provider holds for you. - Check your own ledger against Checkout.com's records for a single cut-off date. The report is a PDF addressed to your legal entity and shows closing balances only. To see the movements that produced a balance, such as payments, refunds, fees, adjustments, transfers, and payouts, see your [Balance Report](https://www.checkout.com/docs/funds-management/retrieve-financial-reports/balance-reports/balance-report.md). --- ## Report availability You can generate the report on demand [in the Dashboard](https://www.checkout.com/docs/business-operations/retrieve-reports.md#Generate_reports_in_the_Dashboard). The report is not available through the API, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), or webhooks. When you generate the report, you select a date and a time zone. The report takes the closing position of each of your currency accounts at 11:59:59 PM UTC on that date, combines the accounts by holding currency, and displays one row per currency. The cut-off is always 11:59:59 PM UTC, regardless of the time zone you select. The time zone only changes how the report displays the cut-off time. The report is an end-of-day snapshot of what you held at that moment. It does not include an opening balance, funds movements, or a date range. For example, if you generate the report for September 30, it shows the balances your entity held at 11:59:59 PM UTC on September 30. The report header displays the date and time of the snapshot, converted to the time zone you selected. > **Note** > > All amounts in your report are expressed in the [major currency unit](https://www.checkout.com/docs/payments/accept-payments/format-the-amount-value.md), rounded to two decimal points. > For example, a balance of 33.33333 USD appears as 33.33 USD on your report. --- ## Report format The report is provided as a PDF file. By default, the file name uses the following format: `{YYYY-MM-DD}BalanceConfirmationReport-{EntityName}.pdf` --- ## Sample report [Download a sample Balance Confirmation Report](https://www.checkout.com/docs/large-media-assets/balance-confirmation-report_sample.pdf) (PDF file). > **Information** > > If using Safari, hold down the _Option_ key when selecting the link to download the file. --- ## Report contents ### Header The report header contains the following: - Your legal business details: - Entity name - Entity ID, prefixed with `ent_` - Address - Checkout.com entity name and address - Date the report was generated ### Account balances The _Account balances_ section outlines your closing balances at 11:59:59 PM UTC on the date you selected.
