# Manage funds

Funds in your entity's Checkout Business Account are stored in independent sub-accounts, each with its own transaction history.
Each sub-account stores funds in a single currency, which has a subset of [balances](https://www.checkout.com/docs/funds-management/manage-funds/balances.md) for incoming, reserved, and available funds.

You can create one or multiple sub-accounts in your Checkout Business Account to meet your operational and liquidity needs. For example, you may create multiple sub-accounts to:

- Hold different currencies that you process payments in.
- Segregate funds within an entity. For example, by brand or [processing channel](https://www.checkout.com/docs/business-operations/use-the-dashboard/manage-processing-channels.md).

## Sub-accounts and payment processing

Revenue from the payments you process with Checkout.com is credited to your sub-accounts, minus any fees, refunds, or chargebacks.

You can use these funds for [Card Payouts](https://www.checkout.com/docs/payments/request-payouts/card-payouts.md), [Bank Payouts](https://www.checkout.com/docs/payments/request-payouts/bank-payouts.md), or [Issuing](https://www.checkout.com/docs/card-issuing.md). You can add more funds or enable [Funds Pooling](https://www.checkout.com/docs/funds-management/manage-funds/pool-your-funds.md).

Any remaining funds in your sub-accounts are paid out to you according to your [settlement schedule](https://www.checkout.com/docs/funds-management/receive-settlements/manage-settlements.md#View_settlement_schedule_details).
