# Update card product

For your issued cards, you can update the name of the [card product](https://www.checkout.com/docs/card-issuing/set-up-card-program.md#Card_products), which represents the configuration that your card inherits.
Applying your own naming conventions lets you better organize and manage your card program.

> You can do this for cards that have an existing product name or no product name.

## Update card product in the Dashboard

Ensure you have permission to [manage Issuing data](https://www.checkout.com/docs/business-operations/use-the-dashboard/manage-users/user-permissions.md#Pre-defined_roles).

1. Sign in to the [Dashboard](https://dashboard.checkout.com/).
1. Go to _Issuing_ > _Card program_ > _Card products_.
2. Find the required card using the search or filters and select it.
3. On the _Card products_ details page, select _Rename_.
4. In the dialog that appears, enter a new card product name. <br>
Format: Case-sensitive alphanumerical string of 1–256 characters, including special characters.
5. Select _Confirm_. <br>
The new name is displayed on the _Card products_ details page.
